Looks like I was a happy cook-er, now I am a happy hook-er as well.
Love the pun and it is very much intended- I am still laughing!
I am done with my first crochet project. I took 7 days and now that it is done, I love my creation. I finally found a hobby that is sure a keeper for life! It gives me so much of satisfaction; I get to exercise my creative bent more productively!
Well, don't you worry a bit, there is chow is this section as well. I made some roti ki khichidi with some left over rotis from last night. I was so excited with my creation that I was left with very little time to feed my growling tummy! We normally make this for breakfast at our place with the rotis left over from the previous night's dinner. It is easy and totally yummm! Feel free to add veggies of your choice too- that is why it is called a khichidi. Make it your way!
Feeds: 1 hungry kid!
Ingredients:-
Two left over rotis/phulka/Indian flat bread
1/4 cup of chopped red onions
1/4 cup of chopped tomatoes
3 curry leaves
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 long green chilli chopped
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp lime juice
1/3 cup of water
coriander leaves to garnish
1 tsp of oil
salt to taste
Method:-
Cut the rotis into 1 inch cubes (approximately).
Heat 1 tsp of oil and let the mustard seeds pop up.
Add onions, curry leaves, green chilli and tomatoes. Fry well for 5 mins or untill the tomatoes become soft.
Add the salt, turmeric powder and garam masala. Mix well.
Add water and let it come to a boil.
Add the roti pieces and cook well until the rotis are soft and the water is evaporated.
Add lime juice and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves
Serve hot.
