Paruppu Payasam












Ingredients:-

1/2 a cup of powdered/crushed jaggery
4 cardamom crushed
8 broken cashews fried to golden brown in ghee
1/2 a cup of dhuli moong dal/split n shelled green gram
1/4 cup of grated coconut
2 cups of water
1/4 cup of milk

Method:-
Wash the dal and cook it well (should be almost mashed-either in cooker or in microwave)
Heat the water and dissolve the jaggery.
Add the moong dal and let it come to a boil.
Blend the milk and coconut and add it to the dal mixture.
Cook the mixture well for 10 minutes till you get the needed consistency.
Add the cardamom and cashews.
You may serve warm or cold.

Hey preeti, Wishing you a very happy Dusshera....I just prepared this Parappu Payasam today(its called 'Hesarbele Payasa' in my place)as a quick sweet for the festival today n it came out awesome! This recipe servd my purpose of makin a sweet in a record 20 min & serving it to my hub before he left to office. Thanks a ton for the recipe (it made up for me havin' gotten up late :-)).
