Moong Dal Khichidi (with a little methi leaves)

The most yummy yet simple n healthy recipe ever! The addition of methi leaves (my very own idea!) did wonders! Not only did it add flavor but also made it healthier. Relish it!

Ingredients:
1 cup of basmati rice/sona masuri rice
1/2 a cup of dhuli moong dal
1 tsp jeera
1 medium sized onion chopped
fist full of methi leaves chopped finely (optional)
1 tsp of coarsely crushed pepper
hint of asafoetida
3 green chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
5 tbl spns of ghee
2 inches of garlic grated
2 cardamoms
4 cloves
salt of taste

Method:-
Heat 1 tsp of ghee in cooker.
Add the jeera, asafoetida, cloves, cardamom, green chillies, ginger, onion and curry leaves. Fry till onions get transparent.
Add methi leaves,turmeric and salt.
Add rice and dal with 5 glasses of water. If you want it really mushy, add 6-61/2.
Cook for 2 whistles.
Mix with 4 tsp of ghee at the end and serve with pickle and curds.
