Green onions or spring onions are normally used to garnish or used in salads. Many a times in Indian cuisine, we throw the green springs and use only the white bulb. But the green springs have a lot of iron in them. This bhajiya recipe came to my mind as I was going to throw the green spings yesterday. It made an excellent tea snack for my family. You may use the green springs as well as the white bulb onion at the bottom for this dish.
Ingredients:-
4 green onions chopped
2 tbl spns of besan/chickpea flour/gram flour
1 tbl spn of rice flour
1 tsp of red chilli powder (add according to your taste)
1 tsp of jeera powder
pinch of hing/asafoetida
1/4 tsp of baking powder
salt to taste
Method:-
Mix all the below ingredients to a thick paste to hold all the green onions are held together.
Heat oil in pan and add a tbl spns full of batter into the oil.
Deep fry till in medium flame till medium brown color . Try testing with one and see if the inside is cooked. If it is not, reduce the heat a little and cook it for more time.

That is a great use of green onions. In Mexico they are usually grilled and eaten with carne asada tacos. This recipe sounds very very good.
thanks Ben...
