Who said you can't make yummy pedas in 10 minutes? Who said bachelors can't serve sweet dishes? This is a "Nobel prize for food" recipe, Thanks a lot to Rahin! I am so thrilled sharing it with you. This is truly a quick and no fuss recipe. Lets all give a run to all the sweet shops!
Ingredients:-
1 cup of milk powder (8 ounces)
3/4 can of condensed milk (14 oz)
1 stick of butter
1/4 t spn elaichi/cardamom powder
few strings of saffron (optional-I didn't use it)
a few badam/almonds to garnish.
a toothpick to decorate. :)
Method:-
In a microwave dish, whisk (can use a fork or a whisk) the milk powder and condensed milk for 5 minutes well.
Add butter and whisk again for a minute.
Add the elaichi/cardamom powder (and saffron if used) and whisk for another 2 minutes.
Microwave the mixture on "high" power for 2-4 minutes (mine got done in 3 mins).
Remove and let it cool (say for around 1 minute) till your hands can handle the mixture. (do not over cool or keep in the fridge as this will make the mixture brittle and you will not be able make the peda smooth) .
Take a tbl spn of the mixture and make a nice soft ball. Roll it btw both your palm till the surface of the ball is smooth.
Flatten it a little.
Decorate and garnish.
Serve after 15 minutes.
