A must try recipe to feel warm during this chilling monsoons! Relish it!
Ingredients:-
8-10 baby portabella mushrooms quartered
3 tbl spns of butter
2 cups of basmati rice (for 2 people)
1 bay leaf
2 cardamoms
1 t spn shahi jeera
4 cloves
1 t spn of garlic paste/2 pods of garlic chopped finely
1 star anise
1 tbl spn garam masala
1 t spn chilli powder
few green onions to garnish along with a few mint leaves
3 green chillies slit
1 medium/small sized onion slit
one bowl of milk with saffron (soaked for 1/2 an hour)
5-6 deep fried bread cubes (optional)
salt to taste
Method:-
Heat the butter in pan
Fry shahi jeera, cardamon, cloves, star anise, cinnamon and bay leaves,.
Add green chillies, onions, garlic, and fry well with mushrooms.
Add 1 tbl spn of garam masala and grounded salt as needed.
Add basmati rice and equal amounts of water.[1 cup of rice-1 cup of water]
Add one bowl of milk with saffron (soaked for 1/2 an hour) with half a cup of water
Cook for one whistle/ cook in the rice cooker
Garnish with fried bread cubes, green onions and mint leaves
