Meena Manni's rasam is supposed to be the best in our family. This is her recipe for the podi/powder:-
Ingredients:-
2 cups red chillies fry dry
1 cup dhaniya/coriander seeds fry dry
1/4 cup black pepper fry dry
1/4 cup jeera fry dry
1/4 cup menthiyam/fenugreek fry dry
1/4 cup mustard seeds
1/2 the small finger asafoetida/peringayam fry with one tspn of ghee
1 cup curry leaves fry dry
1/2 cup turmeric
Powder it in the blender and store in an air tight container to retain freshness !!!
